ISO VALVE COMPARISON
Remember the old Castrol oil television advertisements – ‘Oils aint oils’ – where the manufacturer went on to explain that all things are not as equal as some make out? What is the difference in valve performance between the various manufacturers of ISO pneumatic solenoid valves? The answer – Plenty! ISO is the International Organisation for Standardisation – this organisation is across a variety of industries including pneumatics. The obvious idea behind valve standardisation was an endeavour to ensure all players (manufacturers) are adhering to the same specifications. In the case of ISO valves, the four bolt footprint is the interface that all ISO accredited valves need to adhere to. Other designs within a valve do not need to adhere to any such specification, and these are critical to the operation of your machine. As with most of the Mac Valve range – our ISO valves outperform the opposition – even with the same footprint! How is the performance measured: flow, response times and expected life. We make ISO 01, 02, 1, 2 and ISO3 valves. All of our valves flow higher, respond faster and last longer than the other valves on the market. We do not make ISO4 valves – why? Our ISO3 valve flows higher than our competitors IS04 valves, so instead we simply offer an interface plate from IS04 to ISO3. While ISO idealism is good in theory, it can also be restrictive. John F Kennedy was once quoted as saying “Conformity is the jailer of freedom and the enemy of growth”. Valves aint valves!. |
